A long and interesting article. The writer comes off a bit overly eager in his gonzoistic approach and is too worshipful to pull it off, but it's not a bad article. Whatever you think of Phil Spector — love the man's craft, call him an asshole, call him crazy — and hell, all of that's warranted. But the article at least humanizes him to the point where you can knock all that aside for twenty minutes and feel for the lonely guy getting old and feeling out of control. It at least makes you think and feel.
Is he guilty? Probably. Maybe not. Who the fuck knows. At least he's demysticized a bit and you get more than a tabloid's-eye-view of it all. You gotta admire him for what he is.
