Perfect parallel parking @ Park Ave

Well, this weekend is the Park Ave Art Festival. Since I live here, the festival kind of comes to me. I plan to eat lots of greek and italian food and get very tan and take lots of pictures. And buy some cool jewelry and posters.

I had half a day friday so I came home early to claim a parking spot in front of my abode. Strategic parking is extremely important in this neighborhood this time every year. If you don't understand why, then you've never witnessed this neighborhood during the festival. Imagine your street becoming a living, swarming carnival. 300,000 people come here from all parts of the country every year. You don't go anywhere during the festival. To give up your parking spot is insanity. If necessary, you fake a heart attack so one of the Rural-Metro ambulances can transport you out of the area.

But then, I don't need to go anywhere this weekend. Bank of America's ATM is 2 minutes up the sidewalk. CVS/Wilson Farms/Eckerd Rx is right by BoA. And there'll be more food than anybody could hope to eat … like … everywhere.

I purchased two beautiful cane-back antique chairs off craigslist last week. I have a beautiful sitting room now. Pictures of that later too.

Incidentally, I don't have a pinched nerve. As I told Keith last night, “The doctor figured out what was wrong with me!” He gave me an astonished look, so I had to follow it up with “Well, what's wrong with my ears going numb, anyway.” He looked disappointed. It's called TMJ, and it explains the numbness / dizziness / neck tension / and my ABCESSED TOOTH. Finally. Dammit. I never did understand how I could have an abcessed tooth. I have perfect teeth and no cavities in over ten years. Even the dentist admitted I was an unlikely patient for a root canal.

The good news is that this seems to be getting better on its own. Let's hope that continues to be the case.
