State of the lung address

By cbassman • Dec 8th, 2005 • Category: Web

So, it has been brought to my attention that I've had not only bronchitis, but pneumonia twice so far this winter (and don't tell me it's not winter yet. It's Rochester. It's snowing. It's winter).

Pneumonia.

Twice.

And I apparently neglected to realize this because for some reason I didn't put all my symptoms together to realize what they were. Hey, where I come from, we don't get pneumonia! It's like something out of a book from 100 years ago! Well, it explains why I couldn't get out of bed for a month and could literally feel my lungs filing with fluid. I probably should have seen a doctor. Yeah.

Can you even get over pneumonia without antibiotics? I don't know man, but I did. Slow as hell, but as of right now I'm pretty clear except for some fluid left behind my eardrums. Of course I popped multivitamins and echinacea like mad for the past few months too. It's funny, both my doctor and my vet swear by echinacea. I originally bought it for the mice in glycerin juice drop form, but they aren't as crazy about it as they used to be, so I'm the only one who takes it now.

Oh, and I also credit lots and lots of wegmans chai lattes. Nothing like a hot spicy drink to help make you hack up all that junk. Wegmans sells a really delicious Holiday Chai flavor of Stash Tea. Gingerbready goodness.

And yes, if I start filling up with fluid a third time, I promise I'll go to the doctor instantly. I'm not a doctor-avoider, promise! I was just ignorant. I thought they were just colds, man. Really bad colds. Paralyzing ones.
