What's the worst thing ever?
September 13, 2005 – 9:25 PMBecause the human experience varies so widely, I'm curious …
What's the worst thing you've ever found out about somebody you liked/were interested in/cared about/loved/were connected to in some way?
Excluding death here, since that's more something that happened to another person, rather than something horrible about that person, or something horrible they did.
I realize this is asking a lot, but mask names/relationships if you want. I'm just interested in how others reconcile their feelings toward a person with the fact of that person's actions. How bad does it get? Can people really forgive anything? Is a person's value worth more than the sum of their greatest sins, or is that just a platitude when it comes down to the really dark stuff?
